🔥 26&2 Beginner Hot Yoga 🔥
aka “Bikram Yoga” 

Bikram Yoga's 26 posture exercises systematically move fresh, oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body, to each organ and fiber, restoring all systems to healthy working order, just as Nature intended. Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and a sense of well-being will automatically follow.  Bikram scientifically designed this 90-minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss, and limit the effects of aging. In addition, the series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control, that increase mental clarity and reduce stress. The 26 postures are all beginner poses.  These Hot Yoga classes are traditionally done in a 105 degree heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout, and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.  This practice is the foundation on which the entire e84 Yoga system is built.

🔥 e84 Intermediate Hot Yoga 🔥

e84 Intermediate class introduces new postures and skills to people who have a foundation in the 26&2 series. This class is not a fixed sequence, so expect to explore slightly different postures each time you participate.  There are 6 class outlines for the e84 Intermediate class, and each outline focuses on 2 series from 84 Asanas Advanced class (ie Lotus series, Handstand series, Splits series).  Thus, the 84 Asanas Advanced class is broken down into bite-sized pieces, by offering baby steps and modifications for beginning to access these postures.

 

The videos below demonstrate the three salutes that we begin every e84 Intermediate class with.  Following the salutes, we will practice one set each of the 26 postures, flowing many postures together and adding in some skill-building and strengthening exercises.  The class culminates with 2 playshops, where we introduce postures from the 84 Asanas Advanced class.  The e84 Intermediate class is challenging, fun, accessible to all, and does not require any advanced skills.

🔥 84 Asanas Advanced Hot Yoga 🔥

The world famous hot yoga 26&2 sequence was derived from a larger sequence of over 84 postures taught by Bishnu Ghosh and his disciples from Calcutta, India. In the hot yoga world the 84 class is known as the ‘advanced class’. It’s a 120 minute therapeutic Hatha yoga class that prepares an individual for meditation, oxygenates all of the body’s organs and muscles, and restores and preserves the proper functioning of all of the body’s systems.

The 84 class builds on the foundation of the 26&2. It’s expected that participants have a good foundation of strength, flexibility, alignment, concentration and balance. The 84 class will develop skills like lotus, handstands, leg-over-the-head movements, and deep backbends.  84 is a sacred number in many spiritual traditions. Numerologically it’s a metaphor that represents Self mastery, and the development of high yogic consciousness, with a physical practice.
