Aloha, friend.
As we meet on the mat, below are helpful resources
to support your arrival, acclimating, and settling into the space.

Intro to Yoga
Yoga means "union." Yoga has been scientifically proven to cure a multitude of physical ailments through the practice of postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. While the physical practice of yoga is amazing for your body, it is only a small part of the bigger picture. Here at Blue Dragon Hot Yoga, we use the physical practice of yoga to still the mind and connect deeply with our spirit. It is here in this space, that transformation occurs. When we can release all that no longer serves, we rebirth the highest version of ourselves that is ready to come into form!
Why the heat?
Compared to traditional yoga, hot yoga, otherwise known as Bikram yoga, is done at a higher temperature and humidity level to promote healthier exercise and detoxification for the skin, muscles, and internal organs. The postures themselves are a combination of both standing and floor exercises to both build strength and promote greater flexibility. Staying hydrated is absolutely essential during hot yoga, so be sure to come well hydrated to help you fully enjoy the experience and leave completely invigorated.

Preparation
Drink plenty of water throughout your day, both before and after class. Good hydration supports the healthy function of all your body’s systems. The Institute of Medicine recommends that women consume a total of 91 ounces (that’s about 2.7 liters) per day and men consume 125 ounces a day (or 3.7 liters). Physical activity in heat will increase water losses and raise daily fluid needs. Please to come to class fully hydrated; you’ll be surprised the difference it makes.
Avoid big meals 2-3 hours before class. Eat a piece of fruit an hour before class if you’re hungry.
Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your first class to fill out our liability waiver and sign in. We do not permit late arrivals, and each class is 90 minutes, so please plan accordingly. It is important that we all begin and end the classes together, to keep the group energy strong and cohesive.
Etiquette
Some guidance to assist you navigating in confidence and grace, as well as creating the best possible experience while you’re here.
When everyone understands and respects these rules, we know that every member of the class will leave feeling confident, connected, and changed for the better.
